Domestic and Dating Violence Prevention and Treatment

Individual therapy, guidance on prevention, helping those at risk and treatment for those experiencing domestic or dating violence

  • Domestic violence is the number one cause of injury to women---more than rapes, muggings, and auto accidents combined. A woman is beaten every 15 seconds.

  • Battering occurs in every social, economic, ethnic and religious group. Victims are often afraid to leave the relationship. Nearly half of all women who have been abused tell no one.

  • Nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year. Nearly half (43%) of dating college women report experiencing violent and abusive dating behaviors.

  • Teens rarely tell or seek help from adults.

I can provide guidance in how to recognize the warning signs, prevent the abuse from continuing and the safest ways to leave a dangerous relationship. I will help you regain a sense of balance, safety, and self-worth.

People who are in violent relationships need support to understand that IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT. Hope is there for them. There is a way out.
