Domestic and Dating Violence Prevention and Treatment
Individual therapy, guidance on prevention, helping those at risk and treatment for those experiencing domestic or dating violence
Domestic violence is the number one cause of injury to women---more than rapes, muggings, and auto accidents combined. A woman is beaten every 15 seconds.
Battering occurs in every social, economic, ethnic and religious group. Victims are often afraid to leave the relationship. Nearly half of all women who have been abused tell no one.
Nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year. Nearly half (43%) of dating college women report experiencing violent and abusive dating behaviors.
Teens rarely tell or seek help from adults.
I can provide guidance in how to recognize the warning signs, prevent the abuse from continuing and the safest ways to leave a dangerous relationship. I will help you regain a sense of balance, safety, and self-worth.
People who are in violent relationships need support to understand that IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT. Hope is there for them. There is a way out.
